It might not have been -6, but it was extremely cold! Muhammad had a terrible night ! He must have been cold as Marwaan said he wasn't covered. A new plan for sleeping too! Marwaan will have to share with Muhammad. The group met at the garage at 8:45am and after radio checks etc we left around 9am.
Car-schooling! Aasiyah now does her lessons during the long drives. There isn't much else to do and it gives her plenty of time to cover bother memorizing and back lessons ! Interesting, reading Qur'an from right to left doesn't make me nauseous while the car is moving. Listened to animal sounds CD so that the kids could identify if they heard any.
Drosky Cabins in Okavango Delta. The sites are in a forest with Aasiyah's favourite monkeys : the vervet monkey ! The kids were on monkey watch from the moment we arrived ! The sites are big, but so is our group and we have to share. We have been placed with 3 other families : A couple, a couple and their friend from the US and an elderly guy on his own. Although there are other kids with, we haven't met them yet. Ablutions are individual toilet and shower with toilet, but 4 of these are for all of us and many times we have to queue. They are reasonably clean, but get muddy and dirty quickly. Aasiyah and I showered and prepped for mozzies as there are plenty ! At the site there was a very noisy bird, took me while but I located it.
We took a walk to the river and watched the perfect African sunset. Aasiyah felt it looked like a planet as it had stripes over it. Muhammad kept staring at the river – he was very concerned that there were crocs and hippos. Everytime something floated by, he'd check with me what it was ! After a quick introduction Aasiyah started playing with the kids, but Muhammad was a bit shy.
