Aasiyah and I have been having nightmares – possibly a side-effect from the malaria meds.

I am officially hooked on bird watching !!

From this spot overlooking the river, I saw so many different birds. I thoroughly enjoyed looking them up and trying to identify them.

There was one I couldn't identify until I came to the rare section – it was the Angola Swallow !!

This was the first day we had nothing planned ! Kalizo Lodge provides a laundry service, but unfortunately not on a Saturday. As an extra bonus, Muhammad wet the bed even though he was wearing a nappy! So Marwaan and I spent the morning doing laundry – the old fashion way – not just by hand but each holding an end to wring the water out! The weather was lovely and the laundry dried quickly. I spent the day bird watching. The kids from the tour group all got together and played various games and the men watched rugby on the TV. A monitor lizard crawled up the high river bank and got me wondering if crocs could also …..

I had brought many activities for the kids but not much for me so at some point I was …. bored. This is evident by the excessive amount of photos I have of kingfishers over the river !
